1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us when using Nostalgai, including:

  • Images: Photos you choose to edit in the app — for restoration, colorization, filters, or AI-powered looks.
  • Usage Data: Anonymous analytics such as crash data and product-interaction analytics to improve user experience.

Nostalgai does not require you to create an account or sign in, and we do not collect a profile or email address to use the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect primarily to provide, maintain, and improve our services. Specifically, we use it to:

  1. Run AI-powered looks and edits: when you choose an AI tool, and only after you agree to an in-app disclosure, your photo is sent to Google's Gemini model (via Firebase AI Logic) for processing and the edited image is returned to your device. Photo upscaling runs entirely on your device and never leaves it.
  2. Monitor and analyze usage and trends to improve your experience
  3. Provide customer support when you reach out to us
  4. Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities

3. Data Security and Retention

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, or unauthorized disclosure.

Photos processed with an AI tool are sent to Google only after you agree in the app, are used solely to generate your edited image, are not used to train AI models, and are deleted after processing. Photos processed by any other tool in the app, including upscaling, are never uploaded anywhere and stay on your device.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers necessary to run the app, each limited to what its function requires:

  • Google (Gemini, via Firebase AI Logic): processes the photo you choose to run through an AI tool, only after your in-app consent.
  • Google AdMob: shows ads to free-tier users and receives advertising identifiers for that purpose.
  • RevenueCat: manages subscription status for premium features.
  • Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics): receives crash reports and product-interaction data to help us fix bugs and improve the app.

We require all service providers to maintain the same strict data privacy standards as we do.

5. AI-Generated Content

Images you create or edit with Nostalgai's AI-powered tools are AI-generated or AI-modified content. In accordance with Article 50 of the EU AI Act, we disclose this here so you can label or share your edited images accordingly.
